Description

In the preferences tab you can choose your encoding, casual users won't even touch that because they have no clue what it means/does. But within your Gnome frontend the encoding option is default empty. Maybe this is done by you, and it wil automaticly use the systems default encoding or it's just ... empty. My sugestion is using default system encoding and automaticly select it on the first start of smuxi.

Empty means it uses the default system encoding. It would be more clear if the empty entry would say "System Default" instead.
